ERD “Yes, I Do Believe in God” Long Sleeve T-Shirt — Black
Black heavyweight cotton. Blue-grey and white print, front and back. ENFANTS RICHES DÉPRIMÉS woven label at the neck.
Front: A bold, typographically centered composition on the chest — referencing one of the most documented and mythologized exchanges in American cultural memory.
Text, stacked, in large display type:
Yes, I Do — mixed case, slightly informal, italicized
Believe In — same treatment
GOD — very large, dominant, bold display caps
The letterforms of “Yes, I Do / Believe In / GOD” are rendered in a distressed blue-grey gradient — not white, not black — a cold, muted tone that reads as aged, faded, or digitally degraded. The type style is somewhere between a heavy metal band logo and a Y2K action movie title treatment.
Below the text: A small hand-drawn or graffiti-style oval containing ERD — the brand initials in a loose handwritten script, enclosed in a rough oval tag. This sits just below and to the right of “GOD”.
Below that: A small Christian cross icon — rendered as a simple outline or thin serif cross — centered beneath the ERD tag.
Below the cross, in very small type:
Columbine High School
April 20, 1999
This is a direct reference to the Cassie Bernall story — a widely circulated account from the Columbine massacre in which a student was reportedly asked “Do you believe in God?” before being shot. The phrase became a martyr narrative in American evangelical culture, later complicated by investigative reporting. ERD uses it without explanation — neither memorializing nor exploiting, but implicating the viewer in the weight of the reference.
Back: Minimal. A single line of small white text centered across the upper back:
Enfants Riches Déprimés — in clean, fine serif or light sans type. The full brand name in its quietest, most restrained form — a deliberate contrast to the explosive front.
Black heavyweight cotton. Oversized/relaxed fit. Long sleeve. Crew neck. Ribbed cuffs.
