ERD “Yes, I Do Believe in God” Zip-Up Hoodie — Washed Blue

The text on the front is a statement. The text beneath it is a date.

YES, I DO BELIEVE IN GOD — printed in large distressed letters across a black chest panel, the zip splitting the word BELIEVE down the middle. Below the kangaroo pocket, in small white type: Columbine High School / April 20, 1999.

These words are attributed to Cassie Bernall, a student killed at Columbine on that date, in the widely circulated account of her final exchange. Whether the exact words were hers remains disputed — the story circulated faster than the facts. ERD put both the declaration and the date on a garment and left the question open: what does it mean to wear a statement of faith that is also a record of what faith cost someone? The zip cuts through BELIEVE. That’s not an accident.

The back is clean: a single black band across the upper back, Enfants Riches Déprimés in white. Nothing else. The restraint on the back makes everything on the front heavier.
